The Pirate Defender Boss is a type of Pirate in Far Cry 3. They only appear in Wanted: Dead missions, where they sometimes appear as the assassination target. They can be distinguished from regular Pirate Defenders by their red berets and bands. Pirate Defender Bosses wear heavy body armor that allows them to survive a very large amount of damage (15 to 20 rounds from most North Island weapons); they can survive twice as much damage as a Privateer Defender, making them the most durable non-Heavy human enemies in the game.
