The P90 is a sub-machine gun that is available only in Far Cry. It is first found in the beginning of the level Carrier.

The P90 has a 50-round magazine and an impressive rate of fire, making it an arguably the best choice for close-quarters combat. However, its extreme fire rate means that ammunition consumption is high, and supplies are not always plentiful. Like the Silent MP5, the P90 is small and relatively light, allowing for a greater level of stamina while sprinting than when carrying heavier assault rifles. The weapon is surprisingly accurate on full-auto, but it generates significant recoil. However, the P90's true strength lies in its ability to penetrate body armor (much like its real-life counterpart), rendering such protection almost useless to enemies.

Obtaining[]

This weapon is first found at the beginning of the level Carrier. It is carried by the two mercenaries residing in the generator room with an alarm button.

Far Cry Classic[]

In Far Cry Classic, the P90 has been given a new model. It now lacks the built-in dot sight of the original, replaced with simple iron sights, and additionally features a blue camouflage pattern on the body. Like all non-scoped weapons in Far Cry Classic, it is now possible to use the weapon's iron sights for more accurate shooting.

Trivia[]

  • Though in the game they share the same ammunition, in real-life the MP5 and P90 fire very different cartridges, 9x19mm and 5.7x28mm, respectively. Also, the P90 is classified as a Personal Defense Weapon, not a Sub-machine Gun. These discrepancies are likely included for game balance and simplicity.
