Far Cry 3 takes place on a tropical asian-pacific archipelago.[1] The games protagonist is a young man named Jason Brody who is trying to survive and escape from the hostile islands.

Characters
Jason Brody
Jason Brody is a to-be stranded tourist on a tropical island and the protagonist of the upcoming Far Cry 3. The morning after his arrival to a tropical island, Jason wakes up to discover his girlfriend Liza has been kidnapped, his friend Doug is murdered, and the island is populated with psychotic mentalists.
Dr Ernhardt
Dr Ernhardt is a character helps Jason in terms of medical assistence. Along with being a doctor, he seems to be an excessive drug user and creates them to a certain degree. Despite his drug habit, he is likely one of the more sane people that helps Jason.
Willis
Willis is a character who contracts and helps Jason throughout the game. Nothing is known about Willis, only that he has a similar role to Doyle in the original Far Cry.
Citra Montenegro
Citra is a tribal girl who appears in the recent teaser trailer. The only things known about her are that she is one of the sane people of the island and that she is Vaas' sister.
She also appears in the E3 2012 gameplay, well talked about due to her being nude. In this gameplay she comforts the player and talks about the dangers and Jason's overall power on the island.
After this, she appears in the Rook Islands Survival Guide in which Agent Huntley describes her as the leader of the Rakyat.
